How to Keep Your Home Clean During the Coronavirus Outbreak

Every day the coronavirus spreads to more and more people. With this growing concern you will want to make sure that you’re keeping your family as safe as possible during this difficult time. In order to do that you’ll want to make sure that you keep your home clean and disinfected. Of course, we have now officially entered into the beautiful season of spring. With that in mind we are suggesting that you take on the hefty project of a good spring cleaning. This will help you better be able to keep your home clean and disinfected from here on out. We will go through what you can do as far as spring cleaning and what the CDC says about disinfecting your home.

Spring Cleaning

When it comes to doing a spring cleaning, you’ll want to go the extra mile this year. What we mean by that is that you’ll want to go through everything since you probably have the time. You can make piles that you want to keep and what you want to throw away. There is no need to keep things that you don’t use anymore. This will make what you have to disinfect to a minimum. While you're changing the house around in order to get things switched over to a summertime feel, make sure that you’re disinfecting as you go. This is important in getting your home off to the best start possible.

When going through your home, start with one room at a time. Don’t overwhelm yourself by trying to conquer a mountain of things all at once. Take the time to carefully deep clean each room as you clear more and more out.

How to Disinfect

The CDC has brought out strict guidelines for disinfecting your home. They have also defined what it means to just clean and what it means to disinfect. When it comes to cleaning, the only thing that you’re essentially doing is getting rid of germs by removing them, not killing them. When it comes to disinfecting you are not just removing them but you’re killing them. By killing them you’re lowering your risk of getting infected. When you do both the chances of you getting the virus go down low.

There are a number of different ways to go about making sure that your home is clean and disinfected. We understand that you have to go out still to get groceries but make sure that you aren’t bringing anything back with you. KCI Homes is all about family and making sure that you’re staying as safe as possible throughout this whole ordeal!
