Making Your Landscaping Beautiful

This is the time of year when you need to do some landscaping! It is the perfect time to get on it because of having to stay at home anyways. Of course, you do not want to spend all your time inside the house when it is a beautiful day out! Getting your landscaping looking beautiful is the best way to help keep your home looking beautiful and your mental state good. What are some of the things that are on the list for landscaping?

Irrigation

The first thing that you need to do if you have not already done so is get your irrigation up and running. Water is essential if you want your lawn looking lush and green. When turning your sprinklers on you will want to make sure that it is on a timer. Of course, you need to make sure that you are following any guidelines given for water restrictions. When it comes to setting your time you either want to do it early in the morning or in the evening. If you do it when it is hot and the sun is out then, essentially, you are just wasting water because it will evaporate before it gets to the soil.

Scalp

When it comes to grass, you want to make sure that at the beginning of each year, the first mow of the season is as short as you can possibly get it. Given the exception that you do not want to do this with newly planted sod. This will help your grass to grow back more lush and fuller. It makes it a little easier if you bag as you go. You do not want any of the grass clippings to sit on your yard because it will kill the grass.

Fertilize

After you have scalped your grass, make sure that you put some fertilizer down that will make the top grow. There are different types of fertilizers. Some will make the roots ​ grow, while others will make the top grow. During the spring and summer, you want the top to grow. While in fall and winter, you want the roots to grow.
